The High Priestess Tarot Card: What Does It Mean?

The High Priestess Tarot card signifies mystery, intuition, and sensuality. It is all about puzzles and secrets combined with common sense.

If you experience a time when you are in a tight spot and struggling with decision-making, this card indicates that it is time to trust your instincts.

You may have also had random and broken pieces of signs and symbols in your dreams. These may be the universe's way of sending you a message.

The High Priestess: What Does It Signify in the Tarot deck?

The High Priestess Tarot Card is the second trump card or major Arcana Card in the cartomantic tarot decks.

It represents mystery, intuition, stillness, and passivity. The priestess is depicted as a Papess (a female Pope), the Egyptian Priestess of Isis, The Greek Goddess Persephone, and many more.

She sits between two pillars at Solomon's temple, representing establishment and strength, feminine and masculine, negative and positive, or good and evil. She is the mediator or the third pillar that balances the equality of the two pillars.

She wears a blue robe with a cross on the chest and a crown, representing her as a divine ruler.

The pomegranates symbolise abundance and fertility. While the crescent moon at her feet is her bond with divine feminism, intuition, and the subconscious mind.

The High Priestess Tarot Card Upright

The Upright High Priestess is connected with inner knowledge and wisdom.

Her appearance in this card reminds you that you should listen to your intuition over your consciousness and intellect.

As the priestess depicts a divine feminine, who holds the answers to mysteries and deep unknown. It is a sign to open your spirituality through prayer and meditation.

The High Priestess Tarot Card Reversed

From the reverse word itself, this is a contradiction of the Upright card.

The signs the universe is sending you may be blocked, or you have been ignoring the call by how your decisions are affected by other people's opinions, how you act for their approval or self-neglect to care for others.

There may be a lot of confusion and distraction, but you should always talk to your inner self and follow your gut feeling.

Pay attention to your well-being and follow a spiritual routine to help you connect to your inner self.
